Musings: "Jazz and Porn" | JAZZ 1
Hi again! These pages are going to be "just for fun",
as the sayng goes...in the years I've been
poking around, one of the greatest loves
I've developed has been for phonograph
records...
Now, as there are as many different records as there
are tastes (or so it seems), I've narrowed my
passion for collecting to a fair degree...
JAZZ, and particularly 10-inch LP's, are the ones,
at least for me...but I'm not going to restrict the
images to just those...there'll be 12" LP's,
78rpm Cover Scans, and the like...
Along the way, I'll try to give you helpful info,
especially in a discographic sense...
Why JAZZ??? ...Because, like the Vintage Porn books
this site is dedicated to, JAZZ is, primarily, an
American invention...
I have no doubts regarding the evolution of this music,
from the "Field Hollers" of the Black American Slave,
to the woeful Southern-Based Blues...up the Mississippi
River to the great northern cities...
So, it's little mystery to me that JAZZ, much like PORN, would
become an opressed Art-Form...as much due to it's
historical roots as to the freedom-inspiring, at times
irreverent, and always creative nature of both
the music and the individuals who crafted it...
I hope you enjoy this...it is a sharing with you
to which I'm compelled !
